Missouri Death Certificate No. 33637-E says Ophelia Estus was born 7 Mar 1865 (POB not given). She died 28 Sep 1934 in Virginia Twp., Pemiscot Co., MO. Her usual residence had been Steele, MO. She was the widow of John Estus. The informant was W. J. Estus of RFD Steele, MO.
She was not the first wife of John Estus who apparently died sometime before 1920. Who was Ophelia, and who was this John Estus?
In the 1930 census of Cave Twp., White Co., AR, she was shown as Ophelia Esters 63-widowed-MS-GA-SC with step-son, Jodie Esters, 17-AR-MO-US.
In the 1920 census of Red River Twp., White Co., AR, she was shown as Ophelia Esters 5_-MS-GA-SC with step-son, Joseph Esters 7-AR-GA-GA. A 23-year-old nephew, John DOSS, was also in the household, along with her sister Henrietta WILKINS 65-MS-GA-SC.
