This is the speculation part.
in the 1850 Census for Sandusky Twp, Crawford County, OH
Henry is listed as family No. 953
there is also a John Esterline listed as family no. 958.
There are christening records at Saint Matthew Church Hanover, York, Pa for John and Henry Esterlien stating fathers name of Henry but not mothers name. John and Henry both list PA as place of birth.
in the 1850 Census Vernon Twp, Crawford County, Henry Esterline age 60 (1791) with Polly (nickname for Mary) age 52 (1797) They list as birth place MD, with all children being born in PA. I have not found any other records for the Saint Matthew Luthern Church yet, but if anybody does, or has it may prove that Henry b. 1821 June and John b. May 1819 may be part of the Henry and Mary family. We know for sure that Ephiram, Andrew and Eli are son's of Henry and Mary along with daughters Polly and Lydia.
The Saint Matthews Luther Church records in Hanover, York, PA spell the Esterline name as Esterlien. The correct German spelling is Oesterlien. Also belonging to the Luthern Church strongly suggest German Heritage but not always.
