Looking for Estabrook Ancestors
I am looking for the ancestors of Samuel Estabrook (b. 1784 MA)and Elizabeth Dunmore. In 1840, Samuel moved his family of 6 children: John Estabrook (b.1817 NY); George D. Estabrook (b. 1819, NY); Helen Estabrook (married Alfrd Barr Sept 8, 1848); Charles Estabrook (b.1826 NY); Edward W. Estabrook (b. Apr 24, 1827 - 1885); and Julia E. Estabrook (b. Feb 20, 1828 NY - 1878) from New York to Waukesha County, Wisconsin.
Two others accompanied the family: Samuel's 2nd wife Abigail (b. 1789); and Samuel's father L. (Leland?) C. (Charles?) Estabrook (1767-July 29, 1847).
Julia, the youngest of Samuel's children was my gg grandmother. She married Sylvanus Sylvester Warren [son of Sylvanus & Betsy (Fairchild) Warren] whose family arrived in Waukesha, WI area in 1838.
In 1867 Sylvanus moved his family to Breckinridge, Caldwell County, Missouri accompanying his brother-in-law Edward W. Estabrook and his family.
[The descendents of Edward still farm the Estabrook homestead in Breckinridge.]
I have been trying to find Samuel Estabrook's ancestors without much success.Recently, while searching for Estabrooks in Massachusetts, I ran across information on Rev. Joseph Estabrook and his brother Thomas and wondered if there was any connection.
Samuel's father went by his initials but am surmising his name might have been Leland Charles Estabrook due to his grandson being a Charles.I'm also thinking that L. C. Estabrook's mother's maiden name might have been Leland.
Any help or leads would be appreciated.
