I am also descended from Arthur Esson by way of his second son James. I have various scraps of information that relatives in the Orkneys gathered over 20 years ago, including the inscription on Peter's tombstone. I am just trying to organize it all now. It appears that Peter had a son Alex who died 8/21/1912 at the age of 28. Also nobody has ever been able to trace the family name past the original Arthur. Send me an e-mail if you are interested in more detail.
