I am sorry that I cannot help you. My Esson family didn't reach Canada until the 1900's.
There were/are a lot of Essons that settled in the oil producing part of Ontario. Plus there are Essons in the Peterborough area.
I would suggest that you search the http://istg.rootsweb.com. They have already listed 2000 ships & are working on the next 1000. The joy about it is that it is indexed. It is time consuming but it is far easier, faster and less painful than reading the films of ships' lists.
