Hi Helen,

I am researching the Esse family as you would have seen on the forum.
I have a cousin who has told me that our Esse family went from France to the UK with William the C.
I have not been able to find any evidence of this and am still trying to obtain information.

One of my relatives in England recalls seeing documents (which have now been destroyed after the death of his Aunt) that had the DeEsse name on them but that's about it.

I have information on a Frederick Esse from 1770 but nothing going back. No parents or siblings.

I have yet to try and find connections in France has I have been concentrating on his descendants for my direct line to Australia.

It would be great to communicate further with you and if you wish to contact me off forum, my email is

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Dianne Maloney (Esse)
