Hi Jane,
I am researching the surname of ESSE and have come to a brick wall about 1770. I can pick it up again sometime earlier but am not sure if this is the same family I am researching. I am trying to piece the puzzle together and it is a slow job.
I was advised to contact the one name study group (GOONS), unfortunately, I can't find their email address but I know it can be found via www.google.com.
I recently upgraded my computer and just before I did, I actually lost about 2/3s of my email addresses - won't happen again.
Anyway, I had emailed someone regarding the ESSE surname, and I know he has quite a bit of information. Might be worth an email.
Please let me know how you get on the "GOONS" (Genealogy of One Name Studies) I think that's what it means.
