I am also in WA and I'm researching the Essary surname. My grandmother was Thelma Essary (1911-1998), married Victor Thulon (1907-1984), and resided in Spokane, WA. Thelma's mother was Clara Gilbert, m. Jesse Essary, and they also resided in Spokane. Jesse's father is listed as Jack Essary.

My grandmother, Thelma, spoke of her memories of riding across the country from MO in a covered wagon to live in WA when she was fairly young.

My Dad, Thelma and Vic's son, told me about a Cassandra Deckard and Matilda being in our family tree, but he doesn't know the connection.

I was also told many times that Native American blood was in Thelma's line. She had a photograph with an Indian Chief pictured with a woman. She thought he was up one of her familly branches.

Don't know if this is any help to anyone.

Any suggestions in helping me to connect the missing links would be appreciated.
