Greyndour of Mitcheldean and Abenhall, County
Gloucester, Aston Ingham, County. Hereford, etc., by
Joan, daughter and heiress of Thomas Rugge of
Charlecombe, Somerset.

So the probable mother of Margaret West was Margaret Thorley.
Little more is to be found on the Thorleys, but the close relationship of the de la Poles to the House of York became very dangerous after the Battle of Bosworth Field.
