My name is Gerald Essary, Jr. I am the great-grandson of Joseph Battle Essary, who I believe is the grandson of Benjamin Essary. Benjamin I believe is the son of James Essary(1779). If that is so, it is pointless to say we are related. I have recently become interested in researching my family history, both maternal and paternal. On my father's side, I ran into a snag when I hit James Essary(1779). Up to him, I believe what I found is fairly accurate. After that, things started getting confusing. I ran into three generations of James Essary. What you have found is quite interesting, to say the least. I have believed most of my life that my last name came from Germany. According to your research, we are distantly related old English royalty. I would very much like to know where you found your material and how accurate is it. By no means am I questioning you or your research, I am just curious by nature and have always wanted to know my family.
