I found some info in my files on a James Essary b. 8-2-1715 England d. 7-1742 Fort Duquesne,(Pittsburg)Pennsylvania. Wife unkown and children which may tie in with your line.
Abner Esra b. abt. 1742
Jonathon Essery b. 7-5-1744 d. 11-17-1828 Walnut Prairie, Clark Co. IL
Joseph b. abt. 1748 PA Delaware County, PA
Thomas b. abt. 1753 Lynchburg or Lunenburg Co, VA d. 1825-1830.
My husband is Randy Necessary. We believe in his line the original name was ESSARY and that his line is also related to Essary, Essery, Esra, Ussery, and Essworthy, etc.
We have traced his ancestery back to William Necessary b. abt. 1770 possibly in MD but no proof. Wm. and Lucretia Preston Necessary had 10 children. Two of the sons as adults changed their last name from NECESSARY to ESSARY and moved from VA to TN. TN was were a lot of the Essary's were at this time. Wm. settled in Russell County Virginia. He donated land for a Methodist church called McClures Chapel in 1834 and became an ordained minister. There are no known Necessary's anywhere prior to William.
Randy's grandfather, Floyd Benjamin Necessary, lived in Whitney, Hill Co, TX. Just recently I discovered there were also Essary's in Whitney also.
I enjoy my research but still have not come in contact with anyone who has made the connection to all of the lines. There are several web sites one is
Patti & Randy Necessary
