We'll keep looking.It really helps one get motivated when there is someone else involved in a similar project.Could be that they were two different persons but with the same roots.I do not know if Esquibel is in my lineage, but it is a common surname here in northern NM.Keep in touch with anything you find and I'll do the same.A note about Spanish surnames:In Spanish-speaking countries, a mother's name is also used.That is why you will see two last names, with the father's surname in the middle place and the mother's last.Could be that Vicente's paternal name was Ferrel and his maternal name was Esquibel.Withall that happens in the US census reports, assimilation, etc., the paternal name is sometimes dropped and the maternal name is the one kept, or vice-versa.
