Thanks for writing. Vicente Ferrel was my great-great grandfather. He lived in the Embudo area along the Rio Grande. His son, Agapito Romero, was my great grandfather. I do not know what happened that my great grandfather used Romero instead of Ferrel. It could have been his mother's last name, or he could have been adopted/brought up by a Romero family. As for Vicente, I have been trying to find information about him and his whereabouts, where he came from, where he died, etc. I do not know if he came from Zacatecas. I know Ferrel is from the Irish surname O'Farrell, Ferrell, and all the variations. I would love to hear from anyone who may have even a trace of information about this Ferrel family from northern NM. Are you a Ferrel? Maybe you know more about this last name and families.

Thanks for writing and I hope to hear from you again.
