I am looking for possible relatives in the U.S. My father, Salvador Esparza, emigrated from Aguascalintes in 1945 and settled in Los Angeles, CA. He passed away in 1997. He was the youngest child of Jesus Esparza and Altagracia Esparza (nee: Arrellano). I know Jesus Esparza was the oldest of several siblings, one of which I knew as a child, Jose Esparza, who lived in Los Angeles since the 1920's. I don't know the others. I also don't know any lineage prior to Jesus and Altagracia.
There is some confusion regarding the surname. Two of my father's brothers, Ernesto and Efren, took on the last name of Ruiz- Esparza. No one knows the reason or rationale for this. My father once mentioned the combined names conote lineage to some royalty, but I don't know if my uncle were being presumptuous by taking on that name or if indeed the true surname is Ruiz-Esparza. All family that would have that information have all passed away.
If anyone has any relation to this branch of family, I would appreciate a response. Apparently, Esparza is a very prevalent surname in Aguascalintes, so please respond if you are sure of the Jesus and Altagracia Esparza connection. By the way, Jesus Esparza died in 1945 and Altagracia Esparza died in 1950.
