Hi all,
My father was born in a small town in Mexico in 1914; the name which can not be recalled by any in our family, but it is across the border from Texas. His family moved to Texas when he was very young. They first lived in Falfurrias, than Chapman Ranch (near Corpus Christi)and last settled in Corpus Christi. He married my mother Felipa De Leon and they had 14 children. I am the 3rd to the last @53 years of age. My research has concluded that the name Esparza is from the city of PamPlona in Navarra Espana (Spain)from the Basque family. the name means "one who came from esparza", which means a barren place or a place where feather grass grows. Please let me know if any of you Esparza's have found any other interesting facts about the Esparza name.
Thanks - Irma Esparza Sandate
