You have some truths in your posting but there is no prof of Thomas' Parents being Robert and who ever (even tho I have it in my data and am waiting for the prof). I know that not all Esmays came from Thomas I have checked imigration records and there are a few Esmays that have arrived from England since. I also checked the population of England(Great Britan) and there are two counties there that have a population of Esmays not Ismays. So the name change may not have started here. Don't believe what you find in any record unless there is a good source to back it up. Those records submitted to the LDS search are not re-varified for sources you have to find a source to ensure it is fact. Not all of my information is backed up with sources but I am working on it.

But please don't stop looking because there are a lot of us out here that are looking and hopeing someone will nail this down so we can move on.

Dave
