Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

I am also working on Thomas Esmay/Ismay of New York. Thomas b. 1747 was either the son of Thomas and Nancy, or of Robert, according to two undocumented sources I have found. Robert reportedly came from New Jersey to N.Y. but I have not looked in NJ yet. The records in Dutchess, NY seem to be very evasive. If you know any more about this family, please contact me. I tried to go to your web site but was told it is no good. Thomas Esmay b. 1747 had a sister Nancy who married my ancestor named Snyder.
