Eslick Family Genealogy Forum

Merry Christmas. Thank you for the info. I have a report somewhere in my papers about a Samuel Eslick befriending a Pendley family and they named one of their sons Samuel Eslick Pendley. I have wondered if this is where the Pennington name came from by mistake. Someone has to have something about the connection with ? Pennington being the wife of Samuel Eslick somewhere if it's true. I have a record of a Samuel Easlick being married to Delilah Burden at the same time a Samuel Eslick is supposed to have married ? Pennington and a Francis Easlick marrying Delilah's much older half sister, Mary Burden. They all lived in Butler Co., KY Coincidence? I don't think so. This Francis Eslick is also old enough to be Samuel's father. Samuel and Delilah were married in Nicholas Co., KY 9/12/1805 and Francis and Mary were married in Nicholas Co., KY 8/28/1806 I just can't imagine two Samuel Eslicks and two Francis Eslicks marrying in the same decade, living in the same county in KY, Butler Co. But it is possible. (I believe the Easlick spelling came from the NC EASLICKs not the NJ ESLICKs. My dad told me he was told it used to be spelled Eslich.) The Burden history doesn't have any more info. on Delilah after she amd Samuel moved to Butler Co., and it is rumored she died before 1810. That is also when ? Pennington is supposed to have died, probably from childbirth complications after Artis' birth. There is also a record of a Samuel witnessing a probate of a will in Nicholas Co., in this time slot. It is a mystery and I love a mystery. Hope we can solve it someday. My direct ancestor is through Artis' son, David. Colleen grmom19@isp101.com
