Samuel Eskridge and Jane Pettigrew of Sumter County, Alabama

Seeking parentage of my ggggrandfather Samuel Eskridge, b. 1796 Spartanburg Dist. South Carolina (about 10 miles southwest of Spartanburg), died near Livingston, Sumter County, Alabama in 1866. He migrated as a young man to Greene County, AL and there married Jane Pettigrew (of South Carolina Pettigrew settlers)in 1825 at Mesopotamia Settlement (Eutaw, AL). They removed across the river to Sumter County, AL about 1834 where they lived, died and are buried in their remote family cemetery 4 miles north of Livingston, AL between Hwy 11 and railroad tracks. Samuel Eskridge was a builder all his life and built many of the fine homes in Livingston and buildings of the Livingston College (Now Livingston State Univ.). He and Jane had 3 children: Thomas and Richard (both Alabama Civil War Vets who later moved into Mississippi) and a daughter Sarah Ann Eskridge (my gggrandmother) who married a friend from nearby Epps, AL John J. Smith (b. VA 1820, died in Civil War 1864 or 65). Samuel was somehow related to Eskridge men also from Spartanburg, SC area who settled in adjacent Marengo County, Alabama (Demopolis area) including Malachi Eskridge (Rev War veteran - see his 1832 pension application) and Burdette Eskridge.
Any info on parentage and siblings of Samuel Eskridge (1796-1866) would be appreciated.
