The black Eskridges/Akee Tree

There is a book currently being worked on entitled "Akee Tree" about some of the branches of the African American Eskridges. I am seeking anyone who would like to contribute any stories they have heard regarding African-American families who carry the surname Eskridge. Particularly I am looking for any slavery stories passed down in one's family. All contributions will be gladly welcomed regardless of the story's content. Please submit even if only a small account, such as a trivial event or some noted saying. If you can, please date the time period of the story/event/saying and the source. So far I've collected some interesting oral accounts, thank you! My e-mail is: My particular branch can be traced all the way back to Sandy Point, Virginia. I look forward to hearing from you!
