Hi, Larry -- don't know if you are still keeping track
or not of the Eskridge's but I am part of that family
and was looking through the Genealogy and found that
you had posted messages concerning lineage, and so if
you are still doing this -- I was trying to found out
more about the Eskridges and my roots.
My dad's name was Lawrence Z. Eskridge, his father was
Clarence Eskridge.Dad said he was born in Frankfort,
Indiana.His birthdate was 09/06/1918.His mother's
name was Deliah (Elizabeth)Beauchamp.Dad was from a
family of:Oldest brother's name was Garland
Eskridge, then Gayland Eskridge, my dad, Lawrence Zinn
Eskridge and his brother Lester Earl Eskridge, who
died in World War II.(Never married and no
children), at least that is what I believe to be true.
My dad died 11/24/1997; he is buried at Edwardsville
Cementary (Tunnel Hill), in Edwardsville, Indiana.
His dad and brother Garland are buried - I believe he
said at the Eskridge Cemetary in Grayson County,
Kentucky. My uncle Gayland Eskridge died in July of
1997, and is buried in the Edwardsville Cemetary also,
(Tunnel Hill) in Edwardsville.
Clarence & Deliah Eskridge begat:
Garland Eskdridge (no children) I believe, but married
a couple of times (that I know of).
Gayland Esrkdgie married Lucy (?) Eskridge and begat:
Joyce Eskridge, Florence Eskridge (deceased), Michael
Eskridge, and Unagail Eskridge.Live in Georgetown,
Indiana. Both Gay and Lucy are dead.
My dad - Lawrence Zinn Eskridge was married to
Margaret (?) Eskridge - begot three children, Earl
Lester Eskridge, Shirley Faye Eskridge and their baby
brother died at birth (J.C. Eskridge) also buried in
the Edwardsville Cemetary (Tunnel Hill).They
divorced.
Dad then married my mother, Lois Dean (Roy) Eskridge
and they had Gregory Zinn Eskridge, Julie Ann
Eskridge, Lawrence Douglas Eskridge, and Jeffrey Dean
Eskridge. We all live in and around the New Albany
area.Mom is still living and resides at the home
place.
Lester Earl Eskridge, as I stated above was killed in
World War II.
If you can connect the lineage here, I would love to
know more.I believe dad said his grandfather's name
was John Clarence Eskridge.I have an old picture of
him and as I understand it, dad said the baby that
died was going to be named after his grandfather, so
the initials on the stone are J.C. Eskridge, so I
assume it stands for John Clarence.
If you can help me out -- please Email. Thanks
