My maternal grandmother was Margaret Delk Clarke, nee Margaret Esher Delk. Her grandparents were Edward Hohlman Delk and Margaret Esher Delk (born 1830, died 1918). She is buried at West Laurel Hill Cemetary, Bala-Cynwyd and is my great-great grandmother. My family history shows that Margaret Esher was the daughter of William Esher and Jane Chapman Esher. And my family stuff shows William Esher as the son of George and Mary Esher. (This is the George who served as the drummer boy at the age of 12 at the battle of Germantown, enlisted August 25, 1779). Jane Chapman Esher was the daughter of Mary and Robert Chapman who owned a farm of @100 acres known as "Magnolia", running north of Haverford Ave. between what is now 65th & 60th Sts., West Philadelphia.
