My line is from Croettwiller, Alsace, but they came to Canada in 1840.I do have the earlier Eschs back to 1730 that stay in Alsace so your Bernhard Esch could be a descendant of one of them.But I do not have one listed as I do not have all of the descendants of the early ones in the 1700s.If Bernhard has a grandparent or great Grandparent with the name Johann Valentine orValentine, it might be the same line.
