My name is Deborah Ubina and I'm doing my Family Tree.
Every since i was a little girl I heard that our last
name is Escalante but I never knew why we were never given
the Escalante last name, until now that I'm doing the Family Tree.
Well back in 1895 my Great- Grandmother had a relationship with a man by the name of Mariano Escalante he told my
grandmother he was with the traveling Circus that was in town and when the circus left town to another state Mariano
Escalante left with them and I don't think my Gr-Grandma
ever saw him again. I don't think he knew he had a son
This was 1895 and 3/30/1896 my gr- Grandmother gave birth to my grandfather Jaun Ubina I don't know if his birth
certificate has the Escalante name on it I'm waiting to
find out. But I would like to share the information I have
gathered on the Escalante Bros. Circus and the names of other family members who were also performers. and I would
also like to hear from anyone who has information to share with me or maybe pictures of Mariano Escalante.
