Seeking information on John Erwin (b. ca 1783) and Nancy ___ (b. ca 1880). They lived in Buncombe/Henderson County NC. John died before 1860. Nancy died after 1870. Their children are:

William (b.ca. 1824), George (1825-1864), Thomas Allen (1827-1896), Isaac W. (1829 - ??), John b. (1831 - 1905), R. S. (b. ca 1832), Rachel (b. ca. 1834).

I am especially interested in Isaac W. Erwin who was a confederate soldier in Co. E, 62nd Regiment, North Carolina Volunteers and who was a prisoner at Camp Douglas, Chicago, Illinois in 1863. His wife, Harriet Wilson Erwin appears on the 1870 Transylvania Co NC census with children, but no husband. Harriet is the daughter of William Wilson and Ruth Clayton. Isaac and Harriet's children were Susan, Marcus Perry, Moses Mitchell, Sarah, John P., and Mary Eliza.

Harriet and her children moved to Garland, Dallas Co, Texas around 1876 where they changed their name to Patton. There is a family story that the family left because of some trouble related to the courthouse. Any leads would be appreciated.
