Does anyone have any information on Thomas George Erwin's parents? He was born about 1834 in either North Carolina or South Carolina according to various records. In 1860 he was living in Spartanburg County, South Carolina and married to Elizabeth and they had two children: Henrietta and Caldonia (spelling?). He was 26, Elizabeth was 20, Henrietta 4 and Caldonia 2.
I haven't been able to find him, Elizabeth or the two children on the 1870 census. He's on the 1880 census 46 years old living in Spartanburg County, SC and married to Rachel who was 40. They had the following children Joseph 11, Victoria 5 and Philip 1. Also two children from Rachel's previous marriage with John C. Martin were living with them. Their names are Beauregard 18 and Tench 14.
I have found out that Rachel's maiden name was Wilson and that her parents were William Wilson and Elizabeth Ezell. Both Thomas and Rachel are buried at Arrowwood Baptist Church cemetery in Chesnee, Spartanburg Co., SC.
Does anyone have any information on this Erwin family?
