I recently found my 3rd greatgrandfather, John Ervin. He was born in Ireland on 12 Apr 1825. He died in Clay Country, Missouri on 4 Aug 1898. He is buried in Paradise Cemetery, Clay county, Missouri. He was married to Mourning Estes around 1854. She was born in MO. I was told that he and his brother (name unknown) stowed away on a ship, landed in New York, were in trouble when they landed, got separated, and never saw each other again. This would have been prior to 1854. I am trying to find out where he was born. Does anyone have a story like this in their family tree? I wonder if the two family lines ever found each other.
