This is a long shot but a possibility. My husband's GG grandfather name was John ERSKIN and was born Abt 1825 in NY. This is all the data we have on him but he had a son, Charles D. (possibly DeWitt) ERSKIN. who was born in Jasper, Steuben Co., NY 22 April 1855. He married Burnetta PERRY about 1879. Wonder if John could be a brother of Solomon.
