The Exceen family appears to be of Ducth orginal due to the early Church records in the Ducth
Reform Church. They where "late loyalist" who went to Canada for land around 1800.
Exceen's appear in New York City as early 1730's. In Canada they appeared in Presbyterian and Methodist church records.

Part of the Canadian Exceen's moved to Ohio and Michigan in the 1840's. The Civil War spread them to Missiouri,Ohio, Michigan and Iowa. The Michigan and Iowa clan's surname died out. The Ohio Clan I am unsure and the Missiouri Clan have family thoughtout the midwest and on the west coast.

There have been Exceens in war records for the French and Indian War, America Rev. and the Civil War in Michigan and Ohio units.
