I, too, have been checking out the "Askine" = "Erskine" connection. My earliest known ancestor was a Joseph Askine, born 1746 in Indiana, PA. He married Lavina Pigot about 18091 in Indiana, PA, daughter of Edward Pigot. She was born 1767 in PA, and died November 30, 1830 in PA. (None of them got around much, it seems!)
