My previous posting was rather scant of detail. Andrew ERKSINE, born 1775, married Elizabeth (Janet) TURNBULL in Polmont, Stirlingshire probably about 1798. They had the following children: James (1800), Marion (1802), William (1804), Janet (1806) all in Polmont, then followed by Marion (1809), John (1810), Andrew (1812), Robert (1813), Elizabeth (?), Marion (1818), John (1822) in Larbert, followed by Thomas (1825) and Alexander (1830) back in Polmont. In the census of 1851 he was "at the end of the village of Shieldhall" shortly before his death. I hope this additional information helps.
