Thanks for the reply. I did read about the Ctrl-Alt-C for compacting but couldn't figure out the proper steps to do it. I already have installed FTM 2012 on a new Windows 7 computer and copied my original 181mb file onto a thumb drive from 7.5. It was during the transfer process to the new computer that I keep getting that same "import error" message. I was just hoping that by compacting the file it might override whatever was causing that error message.
