Brian,

First, please run the Tools, Compact file.

Then, view the ToC and/or the Index of the book and let it complete. I am guessing that when you see the error message, you cancel the operation. See if it will complete.

The same with the PDF Preview.

Please click on Help, About, and report what the Product Version you are using.
