Hi Russ, I'm afraid I can't answer some of your questions, as my husband deals with the technical side of my PC.
I do know that I have AVG and that I've not had anything new (patches etc) installed lately. The only thing I can think of was a CD from Your Family Tree magazine, which I inserted a few days ago and looked at the trial version of Family Tree Builder 4.0. I removed it from the system yesterday in case it was in some way connected to Acrobat.
Could that in some way have upset my PC???
Have I lost Family Tree Maker ? It won't even hint at opening when I try. Will I have to start from scratch again to re-install it, or is it held somewhere in the computer ?
Thanks, Kate.
