It was very common in the 1800s for introductions to be made and marriages arranged between families. My ancestors were Erringtons and Jobsons... Jane Errington married Robert Jobson (or was it William?) I suspect other marriages were arranged between the families too. The fact that you mention Errington and Jobson is to coincidential. Unfortunately, all of my imformation is in storage right now so I cannot be of much help. You might wish to keep this information on file, just in case something turns up in the future.
