I am new at this but I have been trying to trace our family name "Erow" back as far as I can. Most of them lived in Ohio once they came over from Europe and I traced Jacob (or his father) back to a ship from West Germany (northern port, I forget the name) but there seems to be a few different views on the variation of the name before they came to America. I have seen Ero, Crow, Eron and others. It is so confusing, how does one trace the correct one? I will try to find my actual tree that I have put together and would like to correspond with you and any others who are tracing back. Thanks for listening.
