Ernst Family in Gross-Hutbergen, Verden, Germany--
In the 1725-1733 Census for Verden on page 37 there is a Garbert Ernst With wife Anna Catharina and sons Johann Henrich, Garbert, Ehlert and Henrich listed as living in Kleinen Hutbergen. Unfortunately, I forgot to photocopy page 31 and 32 which cover Grossen Hutbergen. When it arrives, I'll see if there are other Ernst's listed. Have you tried to locate the Heimatkalender that covers the histories of the farms for Gross Hutbergen. These histories start about 1600 and come forward to about early 1900. If your relative was an owner of the farm, they will be listed with their wife and usually her maiden name and birth place and death date. I have Heimatkalenders from 1965-1971. If I see your family listed I'll pass the information on. I haven't looked specifically for them. It is an adventure to trace the families and make the connections.
Also have you tried Church Books. Most of the church books for Verden have been microfilmed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and can be accessed at their Family History Centers. But I warn you that you'll need to invest a huge amount of time to learn to read old German script. I currently have the microfilms for the Dom and part of St Andreas from Verden and even when I know that a certain entry is my relative it is difficult to read. But I have purchased a book, [If I Can You Can Read German Script] by Edna Bentz (I think). I purchased it from Amazon and I will be able to read the script some day, but it will require an enormous amount of time. You might try having someone search the church records for you. Do a Google search for "Verden+genealogy" and the first two responses are professional researchers. We hired a researcher about 33 years ago and he did wonderful work for us.
We have extensive relatives from Verden,Germany infact part of them were in Gross-Hutbergen in the 1700's. Then our relative Johann Henrich Dieterich Dahnke married into the Raddings or Radies farm in Dohlbergen.
