I just wanted to tell you that I have just found that there were indeed some people of the sur-name ALLENBACH in the same region of Alsace where the Erlenbach family lived after coming there from Germany. However, I am not sure that there is any connection between the two families. The Allenbach family seems to have been in that area of France long before the Erlenbachs came from Germany and I see no connections between them at this time. However the records I see the Allenbachs in are of an earlier time period... and I have not looked for them in later time frame.
