I am looking for a cousin of my father-in-law Oliver Pakkala. August Pakkala changed his name to August/Gust Erickson after coming to the U.S. in the late 1800's. He was an orchardist in the northeast part of the State of Washington -- Northport. I have found August and his wife Mary in the 1910 and 1920 census returns for this area. According to those reports they had children: Lilly, Everett, Charles, Orville and Edith. One or two of the children were born in Minnesota, one or two in Montana (there is a discrepancy), and 2 in Washington. I am eager to get in touch with these cousins of my husband. My father-in-law used to tell of visiting his uncle in Northport, WA, traveling northward from Winlock, Lewis County, on the west side of the Cascade Mountains. We live in the Seattle area and have raised 4 children, two sons who carry the Pakkala name. Sincerely, Sharon Poage Pakkala
