Hi Judy,
Unfortunately, my information with Anna Sophia Erickson is scanty. The census I was referring to was 1920 Oakland, CA, that stated Inez as Peter's daughter, but Anna died in 1919 so I can't be sure she was the mother. Somewhere around I have a picture of the 5 siblings-all born in California- but know nothing about this Inez. The 1910 census states that Anna emigrated from Sweden in 1870, but the scribbles for where she was born in Sweden are hard to make out. They look like Nordic, Swedish. And the birthplace of the parents looks like Sweden, Swedish. I don't have a birth certificate for her, the only legal document I have is a photocopy of a VERY old marriage certificate to Peter Soderstrand. By the way, thank you for the information, that is indeed my gg grampa.
I do not have a birthdate for Anna. I visited her grave in Oakland and got her death date of 1919 and birthdate of 1841, the cemetery had no further records on her, and there was no death certificate for her in California. I have a portrait of her on my wall, but I know nothing about her. I was hoping if I kept digging something would come up, but I have so little to go on, and yes, it is a very common name unfortunately.
Thank you for your help, I'll keep looking.

Annica
