A picture and biography of Nicholas M. Erickson are included in "Progressive Men of the State of Montana". Parents: Sievert and Anna Erickson, who immigrated to the US in 1863, settling in Chicago. On 5 Mar 1888, Nicholas married Miss Winifred Shipman, a native of Vermont, daughter of Clark Bigelow and Fannie Augusta Shipman, residing in Fergus County, MT. Erickson children: Anna M, Gratia, Gertrude, living their mother in Livingston, MT.
Nicholas died of pneumonia, 12 April 1894, and is buried in the family plot in Graceland cemetery, Chicago, IL.
