Hello there fellow Epworths,

I'm from the Australian arm of the family. My great grandfather John Epworth came out here around the turn of the 19th/20th century. At the time he was studying divinity at Cambridge but here he managed a cattle property right up the top of Australia. He died before my grandfather was born and we don't know much about him. His father, I believe was Christopher.

I think that his family originally came from the north of England (maybe Yorkshire Mary) because our family has a family tree for a line of the Cliffords who seem to have died out around 1670s and it was passed on to one Christopher Epworth a Church of England minister, by his aunty, the last of these Clifford at that time. We don't seem to know much in between though. I would love to know though. Here in Australia the other Epworth's include my two daughters and a son, two brothers, one of which has a son and an uncle who has four daughters. My grandfather Harold is still alive and he had a brother who had no children. So there is not many of we Epworths here.

I'd love to learn more about any Epworths. My grandfather knew a Fred Epworth in England but we have lost contact with that family.

Hope to hear some more from the clan.

Regards,

Roger
