Here are two letters with envelopes and stamps in GD condition from Edward C. Epting at Troy, NY in Feb and March 1888 to his sister Sophia in Schaghticoke. Two very nice letters containing news of Charlie's sickness; plans for visiting; family news including Edna being confined to the house with a bad cold. Splendid Blizzard of '88 content in the letter of March 16th: "We'd like to know how you got home in the snowstorm. Did you have a good exercise. I
guess you all are forgetting us. How was the snowstorm up by your place Monday. We had a good storm here. The horse cars
stopped running and all business is delayed on Tuesday all day. And the school closed all this week on account of the heavy snowstorm...Heard that you was all snowed in. That gave you a good excuse for not going to the Post Office..." For once, there was a valid excuse for not writing!
