Eleanor Nellie Epperson (Westfall) buried in Oakwood Cem Richmond, Virginia
Hello,
My great grandmother's sister was Eleanor Nellie Westfall who married William Benjamin Epperson Sept 20, 1981 in Illinois.(My great grandmother was Henrietta Westfall who married into the McFarland family. She was born in Illinois and settled into LaSalle, Colorado)
Eleanor:
b. Feb 19, 1874 Illinois
d. July 7, 1918....just found out she is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Richmond
William Benjamin:
b. July 1863 in Illinois
d. Jan 24, 1948 Swink, Colorado....just found this out.
I have a new Westfall/Epperson contact that give me this information about where Eleanor and William are buried.I am been searching for this info for a year or so.
The 1910 census has William/Elenor in Adams County Colorado with children..
The 1920 census has 4 of their sons in the Bethany orphanage home in Richmond.
While in Illinois William/Eleanor lost 2 children:
John Bailey
b. Sept 14, 1892d) Dec 7, 1892buried in Russell Cemetery, Knox Cty Ill
Bessie:
b) Oc 30, 1894d) June 27,1895 buried in Russell Cemetery, Knox Cty Ill
They then moved onto Iowa...
They lost another child that is buried in Linn Grove Cemetery, Greely Colorado
Leslie Clarkb) Sept 27, 1901d) Oct 8, 1906
I am not sure how long they were in Colorado. The Westfall girls (Eleanor's sisters) lived in LaSalle Colorado...real near Greeley.
Can anyone help me with the following questions??
1) How I can verify Eleanor is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond
2) Eleanor's daugher Dorothy Eunice (b. March 17, 1906) died Dec 2, 1918.I believe she may also be buried in Richmond.
3) I believe that William/Eleanor might have family connections to either Epperson or Westfalls in Virginia. That might explain why they ended up in Virginia.
I have research on the Epperson family.I could share what I have, as well as the Westfall info.
Thank you in advance for any assistance,
Anna in Colorado
