You did not give any dates for Melvin Epp. I did find what appeared to be Melvin in Grandma. This is the information listed:
Father: Henry W. Epp Mother: Marie Knack
Unfortunately it does not give any dates or birthplaces for them.
Their child Melvin Epp b. 3-3-1916, Minneola, KS. Married: Ruby Agnes Schmidt b. 12-22-1917. It also lists their children but goes no farther in either direction. I hope this helps.
Did Henry and Marie also come to America? If so, I would write to the county that they lived in and get a copy of their death certificate if you know their date of death. Those list parents name and birthplace, sometimes the information is incorrect but it's a place to start. Rita
