As a direct descendant of Elias Epling, I have been trying for some time now to find out the names of his parents. It has been "speculated" in this forum that he descended through the Giles Co. patriarch's (John Paul's) son Paul Epling (Jr.?) but I have yet to see any "hard evidence" to back this assumption. This assumption may indeed be correct but I find it very difficult to take to heart without some kind of supporting documentation being presented in the form of a will (naming the children), a marriage license (mentioning the parents names), church records (christening/parentage info), census records analysis (matching census-stated ages of male children of a parental candidate to Elias' birth year (c1826-1830), etc. Does anybody have ANY such hard evidence as I'm sure it exists in some form, and to some extent "somewhere". Any informed responses concerning this query would be greatly appreciated.

"Your fellow kinsman",
