FYI I spoke to my Mother-in-law, Goldie Crenshaw Moneyhan and this is the info I have on Thomas Crenshaw and wife Lucy (aka Dany). I am posting this so that anyone else may tap into it. Thomas C. Crenshaw left Missouri in hast after killing a man in a gun battle at a young age. He headed to OK territory to avoid capture. That's where he became detatched from his MO relatives and sort of disappered from family charts. He did have 2 brothers that eventually came to OK, but unknown when. Sorry no names.... The 1900 census of Indian Territory Cherokee Nation Township is indeed our Thomas C. living with his first wife Kate(indian). There were 2 step-children as shown in data, Kate's from marriage to an Edwards, but the listing for Mary Edwards is incorrect. She was not an Edwards, but a Crenshaw. Mary Crenshaw was Kate and Thomas' daughter and was 1 year older than Lucy Mandani Eoff(aka Dany also indian) who came to be a caretaker to Kate when she fell ill. Lucy eventually married Thomas after Kate's death. FYI, Lucy and Mary were friends at the time and had grown up basically together in the same community. As in the 1910 census of Choctaw Co. OK, Hunter Township you sent me, Thomas and Lucy(listed Dany)married in 1909 and had been married 1 year at the time of census. The Tom McGuire is unknown and may have been a boarder(?). Listed below are their children: 1)son-William(Willie) Lee -22 Jan 1914 (living) 2 babies died between these 2)dau-Virgie Mae -Oct 1919 3)son-Connie(Conrad??)male 1922(?) 4)son-Lonnie 1924 5)dau-Goldie 1926 (my mother-in-law)(living) 6)son-Albert 25 Oct 1928 (living) 1 baby died 7)son-Harold Ray 1932(?) According to my mother-in-law, her mother Dany told her that early during their marriage they often loaded up a wagon and headed out to new OK towns. Tom was a gambler and horse trader and lived an "on the run" lifestyle and always wore a gun he wasn't afraid to use. During that time they had a few childen that died, but then in 1914 had William (Willie) Lee. Soon after his birth they settled in Porum OK to a share crop farm. They stayed there until Albert was born and then bought a large farm in Webbers Falls OK about 1929. The farm had been owned by the Reese family. The story goes, the Reese family had been terribly abused by the father/husband and it seems that Mrs. Reese and maybe some of her sons murdered Mr Reese, carried his body to the pig pen on a door and fed him to the pigs. My mother-in-law remembers seeing the door in the barn. I also have the spousal names for the children and some phone numbers if you need them. Goldie would like to have any photo anyone may have of her Mother or Grandmother/Grandfather. She only has one of her father (Thomas C.)and I can email that to anyone who would like it. Thank you for all the info and sorry for the lenthy reply. Trudy email- tudla@aol.com Notify Administrator about this message?
