Mrs. Rhoda Son, age 76, died at the family residence, 102 North Broadway last night. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church this afternoon, conducted by Dr. Frank E. Singleton, pastor, assisted by Rev. J. W. Johnson. Following the funeral services interment took place at Greenleaf. Mrs. Son was Born June 26, 1844, in Carroll county, Arkansas. She was married to W. F. Son, June 19, 1862; came to Texas in 1873, settling at Brownwood. Mrs. Son was a devoted Christian, a life time member of the Methodist church and the record she leaves is that she went about continually doing good and ministering as far as possible in her power to those in need. She leaves to mourn her loss, in addition to a wide circle of friends in Brownwood and elsewhere, five children-Mrs. Belle Lindley, Mrs. Rex Gaither, Frank Son and Lee Son of Brownwood and Mrs. J.B. Sydnor of Fort Worth. Five children are dead. Her husband, W. F. Son, died in February 1883.
