"Hillsboro Argus" 5/31/ page 5 l column 4 "George L. Eoff" "George L. Eoff of Sherwood died May 19 as the result of a logging accident near Harlan. He was felling trees with his brothers when struck by a limb. "Services were held May 24 in the Sherwood Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gordon St George of the Sherwood Community Friends church officiating. Interment was in Riverview Mausoleum in Portland. "He was born in Independence, Jan 20, 1924, the son of Henry and Margaret Eoff. He served with the US Army in Africa during World War II and was a Pfc surgical techician with the First Medical battalion stationed in Amberg, Germany. He received his discharge in 1946. "He is survived by his widow, Edith, whom he married in Newberg, Feb 1, 1953, daughter, Barbara; sons Earl, Donald and David, all at home; mother, Mrs. Margaret Eoff of Sherwood; brothers Keith and Russell of Sherwood and James of Portland, and a sister, Helen Rout of Sandy."
