William J. Enyeart and Amy Slyter are my ggg Grandparents. I am descended through daughters only, starting with their daughter Margaret Ellen Enyeart b. Mar 27, 1845 m. Charles W. Sherwood 9Sep1865. He was born Oct 3, 1845, died 24Apr1928.
Their daughter Emma Florence Sherwood, b. 22Aug1869 m. Marion William Shafer.
I have a genealogy booklet called "The Enyeart Family 1664-1928" Compiled in 1911 by Rev. Nathan M. Enyeart, and in 1928 by Rev. Orris L. Enyeart and Samuel Hartley. The title page says "Particularly the Descendents of William J. Enyeart. There is even a small photo of William J. Enyeart and Amy Slyter. It gives the parents of William J. Enyeart as Joseph Enyeart b. 1792 in Pa. d. Lagro, Ind. Sep 19, 1852 m. Margaret Wickard, Jan 4, 1816, Hamilton Co., Ohio. She b. 1796, d. Nov 20, 1856, Lagro, Ind.
There is an outline of information going back further than Joseph Enyeart (1792) His parents were William Enyeart b. 1752 in NJ d. 2Sep1828 in Huntington Co, Pa m. (1) Catherine Forshey [not all researchers agree with that last name, some say Schell.] in 1774.She d. Mar. 20 1788.They had 5 children. He married second to Jane Norris (our ancestor) and they had 16 children.
I would be happy to send a photocopy of the booklet if you are interested. Please email me your email address.I'd be happy to correspond with you and send you whatever I have that you would like to see.
My grandmother wrote in the 'new' information after 1928, so my Great Grandmother's part in the booklet has lots of tiny writing, some of which is supplemented by the obituaries my grandmother saved. Thomas Jefferson Enyeart and his children and grandchildren are also listed in the booklet.I'll bet you could add a lot of tiny writing to that part.
